Richmond, VA, October 26, 2007 – NewMarket Corporation (NYSE:NEU) reported today that its Board of Directors approved a share repurchase program that authorizes management to repurchase up to $50 million of NewMarket’s outstanding common stock until December 31, 2009, as market conditions warrant and covenants under NewMarket’s existing agreements permit. NewMarket may conduct its share repurchases in the open market and in privately negotiated transactions. The repurchase program does not require NewMarket to acquire any specific number of shares and may be terminated or suspended at any time.
